FAQ

What belongs on SpaceYard?

Projects that benefit the space community: exploration, science, engineering, education, history, art, community outreach, and related commercial or research work. If it has a goal and might need help, it probably fits.

What does not belong?

Spam, unrelated advertising, or projects with no connection to space. We may archive or remove drafts that look abusive. There is no public report button yet — contact the site admin if something is clearly wrong.

How can I help a project?

Open a project page, read How You Can Help, and click Login to offer help or Offer to help (requires a free account and verified email). Your message goes to the project owner by email. SpaceYard does not broker payments or contracts.

How do requests and funding work?

Owners describe what they're looking for — volunteers, expertise, equipment and supplies, partners, audience reach, funding, and so on. Progress numbers are updated manually by the owner. External Kickstarter or donation links are fine; we do not process payments.

Why create an account?

To launch a project, edit your listings, contact owners, and manage your profile at /u/your-name. Browsing and reading are free without an account.

How many projects can I publish?

Free accounts may have one published project at a time. Archive a published project before publishing another, or keep additional work as drafts.

Why verify my email?

Verification is required before you publish a project or contact an owner. It reduces spam and makes sure reset links reach you.

What is a Founder project?

Early example projects maintained by the SpaceYard team. They are labeled transparently on the project page. Other listings belong to community members.

Can I edit my project URL?

Project URLs use a slug (e.g. /p/earthclock). Choose a good title at the start; slug changes are not redirected yet.

Is SpaceYard free?

Yes for the October soft launch. Paid tiers may come later; the core idea is to stay useful for small projects first.
